CLUB ORGANIZATION

The Pittsburgh Ski Club was founded as a non-profit organization to encourage skiing through instruction, ski trips and racing programs. Today, the PSC offers year-round activities for its members and schedules a variety of travel, social and sports outings, which are organized by volunteers within the membership. We have members of all ages. Our frequent events are as varied as our interests. Our wide range of activities guarantees that there is literally something in this club for everyone.

The PSC is governed by six elected officers, the past president and several standing committees. The Board of Directors meet once a month to handle Club business. Social meetings are held October through March, and provide members and guests with a chance to meet in a social atmosphere. In addition, speakers and information tables showcase club activities and skiing information. The election of officers is held at the last social meeting each spring.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

As a PSC member you will receive:

• Free admission to Club social meetings (You will quickly recoup the cost of membership)

• Eligibility for all Ski Club trips (It's a must. You must be a member to go on a PSC trip)

Once you join the PSC, your application will be quickly processed and a membership card will be mailed to you. Your name will be added to our mailing list database, and you will begin receiving our 18-page monthly newsletter, The PSC News.

PITTSBURGH SKI CLUB ANNUAL ACTIVITIES

Although the PSC program calendar varies from year to year, below is a list of several events that are scheduled annually. Please see your monthly newsletter for complete details on these and other exciting events.

Some of our other activities include hiking, baseball/hockey games, weekly volleyball, caving, tennis/racquetball/swim party, theater outings and monthly happy hours.

ARE YOU WONDERING HOW YOU CAN JOIN THE FUN?

• If you would like to join the Pittsburgh Ski Club, you can click on APPLICATION to get a blank application form which can be instantly printed by your computer printer, then filled out and mailed. Our club is run completely by volunteers. And sometimes, our membership committee finds literally hundreds of applications in the mailbox. It usually takes a few weeks to process your application, cash your check, mail your membership card back to you in the SASE that you provide, start your newsletter subscription, and enter your information into our database. This is the method that most of the new members use to join. Please be patient with us; we're a BIG club.
  
• If you would rather receive information in the mail, you can just send the Pittsburgh Ski Club an e-mail at info@pittsburghskiclub.org   requesting that a Membership Information Packet be mailed to you. Remember to include your postal address.
  
• The only instant way, will be to come to one of our social meetings (October to March) and sign up at the desk. You will receive your membership card on the spot.  At some, but not all of the other activities, there will be a membership volunteer to help you. If there is no membership desk set up at a particular event, you can often request one of our 3-fold brochures. In it, is an application. You can fill it out on the spot , include your membership check, and then pay the member rate for entry to that same event. Your membership card will be mailed to you.
  
• You can also call our Pittsburgh Ski Club 24-hour Club Information Line at 412-281-SKIS to have an application mailed to your home.
