Volleyball
6:00 p.m. until dark..

The PSC plays every Monday except holidays until mid-September. We play in Schenley Park at the top of the hill above the ice skating rink. We will be beside the turnaround, near the swing set. We have a great view of the city, especially at sunset.

We plan on starting at 6:00 p.m., but because some people cannot be there at 6:00 p.m., we adjust the teams as players arrive. There are no set teams, and they are assembled each week from the available players. Please join us for some fun and exercise. All skill levels are welcome and we will be glad to help you improve your game as well as ours.

The cost is only $1 for members and $2 for non-members. If you have questions, please call Neal McGee at (412) 585-0119, or send him an e-mail by clicking on volleyball@pittsburghskiclub.org .

Wednesday Evening Biking The Southside Sunset Ride meets on the Southside at 6:15 p.m., then leaves at 6:30 p.m.

The Montour Trail Ride starts at 6:00 p.m.

Biking is back in the schedule for Wednesday evenings this summer and now offering two trail alternates.

Southside Sunset Ride:  Starting May 14, 2008 and every OTHER Wednesday for the Sunset Bridges Ride. Meet under Birmingham Bridge 6:15 leaves at 6:30.We will ride the Riverfront trail starting at Birmingham Bridge to the Glenwood Bridge. The Hot metal bridge bike and pedestrian pathway will treat us to a beautiful view of “Dahntahn” Pittsburgh and will take us over to the Eliza Furnace trail then over the Smithfield bridge and ending at the Birmingham. We do stop for ice cream! Bring water bottle, helmet, and bike in good condition. Total 20 miles mostly flat makes this a fun end of the day ride.  Call the contact is you plan to join them. For more information about the South Side Trails, please call Diane Bialecki, or send her an e-mail by clicking on diane.bialecki@pittsburghskiclub.org.

Montour Trail:  Starting on May 21, 2008 and every OTHER Wednesday following, we will ride the Montour Trail. This nearly limitless trail will offer rides geared to your abilities.  The Montour trail is a crushed gravel trail that has fairly slight grades. Ride will start at 6:00 p.m. and the first portion will typically head north towards Coraopolis and then back again. This will be approximately 12 miles before we head south, out toward the tunnel. By backtracking like this, you have the chance to either wait for the group (if you are running late) or cut the ride short. Total ride will be at least 20 miles of serene countryside. We will meet at the old Wickes furniture parking lot, off of Montour Run Road, at 5:45 - 6:00 p.m. Upon return to our cars we can consider stopping for a snack, a drink or a whole meal (riding makes me hungry and thirsty). For more information about the Montour Trail Ride, please call Jack Fritz, or send him an e-mail by clicking on jack.fritz@pittsburghskiclub.org .
